Cilacap – Bank Jateng of Cilacap Branch in collaboration with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Cilacap, Central Java, distributes clean water aid to residents affected by the drought in the district.
“Bank Jateng of Cilacap Branch as a Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) is engaged in financial business feels called to be involved in humanitarian activities,” said the Head of Bank Jateng Cilacap Branch Isnu Widiyantoro during the symbolic handover of clean water assistance in Karangkemiri Village, Jeruklegi District, Cilacap, on Wednesday.
Regarding the handling of drought emergencies in Cilacap Regency, he said Bank Jateng of Cilacap Branch distributed 20 tanks of clean water to a number of villages.
He hopes that this assistance can alleviate residents in meeting the need for clean water.
Meanwhile, Karangkemiri Village Chief Kuswadi hoped for a long-term and permanent solution to deal with the drought in his village.
“For example, by creating a reservoir of water that has a dual function, namely for handling drought and irrigation of agricultural land,” he said.
Cilacap District of BPBD Chief Executive Tri Komara Sidhy expressed his gratitude for the concern of Bank Jateng in handling the drought emergency in Cilacap Regency.
“The aid of clean water as many as 20 tanks each with a capacity of 5,000 liters will be distributed to villages affected by drought,” he said.
The Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of BPBD Cilacap Regency, Martono, said that to accelerate the handling of drought emergencies in the form of clean water distribution is carried out every day without knowing holidays by deploying personnel and 3 units of clean water tank fleets.
“Until today, the Cilacap Regency BPBD has distributed 246 tanks of clean water to residents in 28 villages from 12 sub-districts,” he said.
