SOLO-Bank Jateng and Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation. The MoU was signed by UNS Rector Prof. Jamal Wiwoho and Managing Director of Bank Jateng Supriyatno at the local campus on Friday (9/20).
With the memorandum of understanding, it is expected there will be cooperation between UNS and Bank Jateng in the fields of education, research and advocacy studies in order to support the implementation of the tasks and functions of Bank Jateng and UNS.
Other forms of cooperation include community service in the banking sector, human resource development, banking services from Bank Jateng, one of which is payment of students, and other agreed upon fields.
Director of Bank Jateng, Supriyatno, said currently BUMD owned by Central Java Provincial Government has cooperated with 50 universities and educational foundations. Bank Jateng has a network of 644 service offices and 928 ATM services spread across Central Java and has branches in Yogyakarta and Jakarta.
With the signing of the MoU, he said, will increase cooperation with existing universities and education. “This shows the concern of Bank Jateng to the world of education in an effort to improve Bank Jateng’s corporate image,” said Supriyatno, after the signing of a memorandum of understanding.
UNS Chancellor Prof. Jamal Wiwoho welcomed and appreciated the signing of understanding memorandum. He hopes that the MoU will soon be followed up with action on the ground with various activities. He gave an example, like married people, after signing the marriage contract, they immediately want to have a baby, a house, a car, and other noble ideals.
Likewise, the MoU was just signed. “Why do we cooperate with banks for cooperation, since banking has added value,” said the chancellor.
